2nd time here this year and just as relaxing. Hurricane Ike passed 500m miles away but still torrential rain first couple of days – then in the 90´s. Gasparillo Island & Myakka State Park (I.75 J205) worth a visit (plus breakfast at Cracker Barrel (J170) on the way!)”

Had some great bbq´s but struggled to find any impressive restaurants. Boca Grande beach wonderful – definitely worth a visit …. Don’t bother with Port Charlotte beach – disappointing.”
